Pregnancy is such a special time because as a mother is growing a new life, expectations abound. The hopes that a mother has for her child, the curiosity about who this new person will look like, act like, grow up to become, fill her thoughts as she awaits his or her arrival.
This beauty of a mother’s expectation is physically evident. I help this natural beauty to shine through by styling pregnant women in feminine, flowing wardrobe pieces and photographing them outdoors in gentle sunlight.
I also like to ensure that my maternity clients feel as beautiful as they look. One of the best ways to bring out the joys of pregnancy in photography is to include loved ones.
The presence of significant others as well as sons and daughters gives the mother an opportunity to share the beauty of her experience. A kiss on the belly from her children or a soft embrace from her husband shows that among all of her many expectations, one — the support of her loved ones– has already been met.
