It was a cold December night in The Woodlands during this family photo session, but the love of this family created so much warmth that you would never know. One of the greatest joys that I have as a Houston family photographer is witnessing tender moments like these between children and their parents.
The giggles, the belly laughs and the looks of loving adoration are never announced and often last just seconds, but it is these subtle exchanges that we want to remember. It’s the pure and real demonstrations of love and happiness that deserve recognition, to be preserved in a photograph to look at time and time again.
We used many of the studio wardrobe pieces to create a soft color palette so that the family’s love and connection could really shine. I love keeping clothing simple and timeless so that the focus of your photographs remains your family, without any distracting elements getting in the way.
Like all of my family photo sessions, I let this family play and have fun while I stepped back and captured the special moments that I saw. They now have memories to keep for a lifetime of just how they were in this season of life – no artifice, no props- just purely them at this stage of their lives.
