For those of you living in Houston, you know it’s pretty flat here. I mean, almost literally there isn’t a hill to be found in this city! Being from California, it’s one of the first things that I noticed when I moved here. Outdoor baby photography is bitter sweet for me because I never get to do a local photo shoot with hills in the landscape, so I decided that I would take advantage of the hills while I was home in California for the holidays. I did some scouting in a local rural part of town and found the hills, quiet and calm that I was looking for.
My babies are growing so quickly (as babies tend to do) and I want to make sure that I get photos of each stage. I had planned to have both my son and daughter in this photo shoot with Daddy, but as sometimes happens with the best laid plans, my son was having a melt down this particular afternoon. So, instead of a photo shoot with Daddy and his two babies, we decided to give him a pass and do a photo shoot with Daddy and his daughter. It ended turning out just as well, because I was able to get some special memories of the two of them at this stage.
Dads and daughters have a special bond and I can already see the sweet twinkle my husband gets in his eye when he looks at my daughter and the tender way he cares for her. As she gets older, he will be her biggest protector, her shoulder to cry on and the first man she ever loves.
Parenthood is such a journey and I look forward to all of the wonderful moments that are to come as their relationship grows through the years. But for now, I love seeing my little baby girl in her Daddy’s arms. I have a feeling she will love looking at these one day too.
