As a Maternity Photographer in The Woodlands, most of my photo sessions feature expectant mothers who have a visible baby bump because they are in their last trimester of pregnancy. This photo session was a little different because I was asked to take pregnancy announcement photos first so that this happy couple could share their exciting news with family and friends. It was so much fun to document the very beginning of this couple’s journey to parenthood and I am so glad that I was able to help them tell their story.
The mom-to-be chose an outdoor setting so that we could utilize beautiful, natural foliage of the season as the backdrop. As we all know, summers are hot in Houston, especially in August! We planned the session just before sunset so it was a little cooler and even though it was quite hot, we were able to capture the joy of this special time in their lives. We used sonogram photos and tiny baby shoes to tell the story of what is to come in a subtle and simple way.
I am looking forward to seeing this mom-to-be again in a few months at her maternity photo session in the studio where we will drape her (and her bump) in gorgeous clothing from the studio wardrobe.
